INSTRUCTOR PROFILE:

I’m originally from Michigan, where I grew up with a deep appreciation for education. Teaching runs in my family—many of my relatives were educators—and their passion for learning and dedication to their students left a lasting impression on me from a young age.

I attended Central Michigan University, where I earned my degree in elementary education with a major in social studies and a minor in math. I’ve had the opportunity to teach in a wide range of settings and grade levels, including second, third, and fifth grade. I’ve worked with students from kindergarten through eighth grade in whole group, small group, and one-on-one settings. Whether I’m supporting students who need extra help or challenging those ready for enrichment, I strive to meet every learner where they are and help them grow from there.

Currently, I serve as a math specialist, a role that allows me to focus on helping students build both confidence and competence in a subject that can often feel intimidating. I love breaking down complex concepts into manageable steps and seeing that “aha” moment when it all clicks. Math isn’t just about numbers—it’s about problem-solving, perseverance, and learning to see mistakes as valuable opportunities.

When I’m not teaching, I enjoy exploring the world and making memories with my family. Every other year, we travel to the Netherlands to visit my wife’s family, and those trips are always a cultural and personal highlight. I’m also a kid at heart and love keeping up with all things Disney, Marvel, and Star Wars. Staying active is a big part of my life—whether I’m working out, doing yoga, or playing basketball and soccer. I’ve also been working on improving my volleyball skills—not just for myself, but so I can better support my daughter in all things volleyball. It’s important to me to show up for my family in every way I can.

At Peak Academics, I specialize in math support while also working with K-8 students in reading, writing, homework completion, executive functioning, and overall academic support. I love helping students build confidence and making learning feel approachable and meaningful.
