Kira earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and a Secondary Education Certification at the State University of New York College at Geneseo in 2006. In 2012 she received her Master’s Degree in Spanish Applied Linguistics and Second Language Acquisition from Arizona State University. She is certified in Arizona to teach Spanish in grades 7-12 and has been teaching since 2007. After graduating from SUNY Geneseo, Kira taught middle school and high school Spanish in the Buffalo, New York region for 2 years. She relocated to Arizona and continued teaching while enrolled in her Master's program at ASU, where she instructed undergraduate students in elementary, intermediate, and upper division Spanish courses. During this time she also traveled and studied throughout Spain, Costa Rica, Nicaragua, and the Dominican Republic. In the Fall of 2011, Kira returned to secondary education to teach Spanish at Scottsdale Christian Academy in Phoenix. She enjoys the opportunities that the secondary education environment give her to work with young adults, especially during Scottsdale Christian Academy's yearly missions trips to various Spanish-speaking countries, like Nicaragua, Mexico, and Costa Rica. Kira specializes in foreign language tutoring and also offers organization and general homework support.
