Chris has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics from Westminster College. After relocating to Arizona in 2005, she completed her Ph.D. and M.A. programs in Mathematics Education at Arizona State University. While at ASU, she was a full-time research assistant in Mathematics Education, working with local high school mathematics teachers to help them become more proficient in math and the ways in which students learn. She is a skilled curriculum developer, specializing in lessons for the Common Core. Chris has taught mathematics from 6th grade through college and believes that mathematics can be taught in such a way that it makes sense to students. Fear of mathematics is the first obstacle students need to overcome to be successful. Chris believes that math is a way of thinking through a problem solving process, and not just a series of meaningless, memorized steps. She offers all levels of mathematics tutoring support.
